Thor Fitness

is a company that specializes in the import and sale of fitness, strength, and martial arts products. We source our products directly from carefully selected manufacturers and factories without intermediaries. By having direct contact with factories that have their own Quality Control (QC) and Research & Development (R&D), we ensure high quality. This provides a sense of security for us as importers and for you as customers. These factors combined allow us to offer our customers the most cost-effective fitness products on the market. Most of our products are marketed under our brand “Thor Fitness and Nordic Fighter”. Over the years, we have developed a large network of suppliers in six different countries and a total of over 20 factories to cover our entire range. OUR GOAL

Our goal is to provide Europes  most affordable equipment for fitness, martial arts, and strength training. We always aim to create as much value as possible for all our customers. Our way of achieving this is by working with lower margins, competitive prices, high service, and quality.

HISTORY

It all started in the fall of 2007. Three young men, all in their prime, trained Thai boxing at the local martial arts club. Their work schedules extended late into the evenings, so they rarely had the opportunity to join group training sessions. The only way to train was with a private instructor in the mornings. After a year or so of training this way, they all found it was becoming quite a strain on their wallets. That’s when the idea of having their own training space with free access was born. After a bit of searching, they soon acquired a perfect basement space. All that was missing was some flooring and other equipment, which led to the first problem. The three realized that the flooring to cover the 36 square meters they planned to cover with tatami mats would cost over 43,000 SEK including tax (about 1,200 SEK/m²). One of the guys started looking for options to buy the flooring from abroad, and with some persistence and a bit of luck, a connection with a factory was established. Since the factory was unwilling to supply only 36 m², they decided (after some consideration) to make a much larger purchase. After some hard work, they sold the excess mats, and it was during this time that the idea of Nordic Fighter began. Today, seventeen years later, Nordic Fighter’s introduction to the Swedish market is more noticeable than ever. Martial arts mats across the board have generally seen their prices cut in half compared to pre-2007. The exact same tatami mats (from the same factory and manufacturer) that they would have had to pay 1,200 SEK/m² for in their small space, our customers can now buy for 545 SEK/m². That’s what we call the Nordic Fighter spirit!

 

Company History

The Start of the Company 2007-2008

Nordic Fighter (Thor Fitness) begins. Our initial product range consists of martial arts mats. In 2008, we move into our first space, a 90 m² basement. We also borrow an old military storage facility for extra storage.

Larger Facilities 2009-2010

Already in 2009, we move to a larger facility of about 160 m² with a ceiling height of 6 meters. We expand our range to also include other martial arts products.

Fitness Equipment 2011-2013

The company moves once again to a larger facility, now with 600 m² of storage space. We expand our product range from solely martial arts to also include fitness equipment. In 2013, the landlord agrees to move a wall, bringing the new total space to approximately 1,550 m².

Purchase of own warehouse 2015-2017

In 2015, we had an extra warehouse of about 200m² for storing clearance sale items. In the spring of 2017, we purchased our current property and moved our entire operation to Finnerödja. Our new total warehouse space is now 12,700m². We expanded our product range to also include gym machines.

Sales Organization 2018-2019

We began developing and building an external sales organization to get even closer to our customers.

Expanded Product Range 2020-2021

We further expanded our warehouse and product range to now include cardio machines and additional lines of strength machines.

Strength Machines and Cardio Equipment 2022-2024

Our focus on strength machines and cardio equipment for commercial gyms is paying off, with our products being welcomed with open arms. In three years, we increased our revenue from 22 million SEK to 95 million SEK, and we are now one of the largest players in the Swedish market.
